Baba Vanga is regarded as one of history’s greatest prophets. Born on 3rd October 1911, she reputedly developed psychic abilities after a childhood accident left her blind. Since then, she has allegedly predicted various major world events that indeed came to fruition, from 9/11 to Barack Obama’s presidency.
Before her death in 1996, Baba Vanga apparently even had visions of extraterrestrial visitation. So, how did she expect things to turn out for the world in 2027? As Vanga is not known to have written down many of her prophecies, it’s difficult to tell. That’s not stopped us at Sky HISTORY giving it a good go…
Online, you’re going to see many predictions swirling around attributed to Baba Vanga. Unfortunately, it’s not easy to discern how many of them are genuine. Many were originally reported by her niece and other followers rather than Baba Vanga herself. However, one 2027 prediction at least attributed to the Bulgarian mystic is bound to raise eyebrows.
The prediction goes that an unspecified disease will soon ravage the population. The strangest part is that some will be left with newfound ‘superhuman’ abilities as a result. It almost sounds like Baba Vanga’s own origin story (she was reportedly caught up in a tornado that flew her into the air). So, could we soon see a new army of Baba Vangas carrying on her life’s work?
What could genuinely cause those ‘superhuman’ abilities we just mentioned? A COVID-style pandemic? In any case, there is another, rather more down-to-earth explanation for this particular prediction. She could simply have been conjuring up the script of the Avengers film – Avengers: Secret Wars – currently scheduled for release in December 2027.
As far as we know, Secret Wars won’t be an origin story for the titular Avengers. Still, we can’t rule out that some backstory elements might be woven into the narrative. Also, Baba Vanga did supposedly mention that the prophesied ‘superhuman’ abilities could be brought about by a genetic experiment. That’s eerily reminiscent of how multiple Avengers got their superpowers.
We’ll have to wait until we catch the film in the cinema to see whether Baba Vanga might have inadvertently leaked part of the plot.
Some claims recently circulating online suggest that a ‘global cash crisis’ could take hold in 2027. This, in turn, could see investors rushing to snap up gold as a ‘safe haven’ asset. In the long term, this precious metal holds its value better than cash. More than that, gold could even dramatically rise in value next year.
That’s according to another alleged Baba Vanga prediction. The soothsayer reportedly reckoned that gold prices could increase by 25% to 40% in 2027. In theory, such growth could also be spurred by gold’s use in technological components, given the ongoing AI boom.
The World Gold Council has painted a rather mixed picture on this front. Though AI chips do include gold, higher prices could lead manufacturers to seek alternatives to this particular metal. As demand falls back again, so might prices. All in all, then, this could turn out to be one of Baba Vanga’s less accurate predictions.
We’re jumping slightly ahead here, but 2028 is reportedly when Baba Vanga expected humanity to create a new energy source. So, scientists will presumably be developing this tantalising new power source in 2027, before it goes live the following year.
What could the power source itself actually be? One suggestion is nuclear fusion. At some point, this innovative technology might be able to provide us with a steady, reliable stream of zero-carbon electricity, alleviating our climate woes. Still, when exactly nuclear fusion will be powering our homes and workplaces as a matter of course remains to be seen.
The soothsayer allegedly believed that Russia’s longtime president Vladimir Putin would no longer be at the helm by the start of 2027. If there is change at the top, this could have major implications for the Ukraine war and any potential long-lasting peace deal.
