Built in 1967, The Mississippi River Bridge had faithfully served locals for years. As a quick and easy crossing into town, in its lifetime it carried millions of vehicles over the river's rough waters. That was until the 1st August 2007, when a series of errors led to one of the worst infrastructure disasters in American history. Thanks to major strides in technology, engineers are able to build such massive structures as giant tankers, mammoth skyscrapers and breathtaking bridges. With such enormous size come equally daunting risks, and when big things go wrong, they go seriously wrong. Woven together through innovative graphics, eyewitness accounts and expert knowledge, the series unravels the mystery behind these destructive moments and their lasting worldwide impact.
