There’s undiscovered treasure in the bayous of Louisiana and Charles Handler knows how to find it. From a 1957 Chevy Bel Air convertible to a 1967 Shelby Mustang GT, Handler and his team find long-forgotten piles of junk and turn them into dazzling custom cars. He searches all over Louisiana for one-of-a-kind classics, invests his own money to fix them up, and then sells them at auction. These treasures can sell for big money so there’s a huge profit to be made, if everything goes according to plan. Each episode, based in New Orleans, features amazing vehicle restorations and high stakes auctions where everything’s on the line.


Devin, a mechanic and the newest addition to The Bomb Factory, hails from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where his father was a used car salesman and mechanic who taught Devin everything he knows about fixing up classic cars. Devin began his career as a millwright, but after he moved to New Orleans and got wind of the cars at The Bomb Factory, he knew he had to go back to his roots and get his hands on those hot rods.

Though the rest of the team constantly gives him a hard time for rooting for Alabama football, they never let their rivalry stand in the way of getting great cars out of the door. Don’t let Devin’s gentle giant demeanor fool you, he gives even tenured mechanics a run for their money at the shop. Devin also plays a mean trumpet in Charles’ famed Ninth Ward marching band during Mardi Gras season.


Charles is co-owner of The Bomb Factory. His love for classic cars has been in his blood since a young age. In fact, he even claims his first word was “wheel.” After relocating to Louisiana from his hometown in Tennessee to receive a doctorate in industrial-organizational psychology, Charles fell in love with the Big Easy lifestyle and decided New Orleans was his kind of town.

Not long after, Charles became another kind of doctor—transforming old antique automobiles back to their former glory and beyond. He continued his passion for rockin’ hot rods with his buddy Trey and the two spent all their spare time fixing up cars. Before they knew it, their hobby exploded into a full-time business.

With his inventive imagination and pension for problem solving, Charles loves a good challenge. He often says his favorite part of the restoration process is not just using his creativity in the design process, but the satisfaction of hunting down the most obscure parts. Charles is always finding ways to bring classic street machines to The Bomb Factory, and in turn, bring in a little more cash.


Benny, a shop assistant and jack-of-all-trades, is a native Louisianan. Hailing from Bayou Lafourche, he’s kicked around the New Orleans car scene for the majority of his life. He finally found a home at The Bomb Factory after being recruited by Chris, his long-time friend and head mechanic at the shop.

From chasing down hard to find parts at the junk yard to aligning a front suspension, Benny has proven that he’s willing to do anything and everything at the shop. Although Benny can be stubborn in the way he wants things done, he always finds a way to put a smile on the team’s face—if they can understand him through his thick Cajun accent.


Trey is the mastermind behind the mechanics, and is the co-owner of The Bomb Factory with Charles. The two first met in 2002 after Charles saw Trey working on a classic car in his friend’s backyard. The new pair became fast friends and spent their weekends tinkering away on cars. In 2009, the shop Trey was working at closed down and the team decided there was no better time than to turn their hobby into a full-blown business.

With a more practical and economic outlook, Trey is the nuts and bolts of The Bomb Factory and a self-proclaimed car encyclopedia. Trey has the knowledge and the capability to take almost any rust bucket that comes their way and turn it into a beast for the streets.

Trey has never been afraid to stand up to his strong-willed partner, Charles, especially if it means saving them a little time and money. Between Charles’ artistic vision and Trey’s phenomenal mechanic skills, you’d be hard pressed to find a better restoration team this side of the Mississippi. When Trey isn’t driving his crew to get these incredible restos up to par, he can be found perfecting his stroke on the golf course.


The Bomb Factory’s head mechanic got his professional roots working on aircrafts for the United States Air Force. Even before the Air Force, Chris has mastered machinery during his early days in Mobile, Alabama working on his ’67 Volkswagen bug.

After his military career, Chris continued to fix anything and everything. From forklifts to fan belts, there is nothing he can’t get back up and running. In fact, he met the guys at the shop back when The Bomb Factory was just a pipe dream, fixing up Charles’ Audi in a shop of his own. Once The Bomb Factory got big, Charles knew he needed a mechanic to lead his squad, and Chris was the man for the job.
