Holocaust Remembrance Day

Holocaust Memorial Day takes place every year on the 27 January on the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. The day commemorates the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust alongside the millions of other people killed under the Nazi's persecution of other groups and in the genocides that followed. In 2024, the theme for Holocaust Memorial Day is 'Fragility of Freedom', to highlight how a person's freedom cannot be taken for granted and the extent to which they are restricted during a genocide. As part of this significant day of reflection, Sky HISTORY is airing a selection of documentaries that tell the stories of the countless people who lost their freedom and their lives.
