The Battle of the Bulge

The Battle of the Bulge, which is also known the Ardennes Offensive, was fought in freezing temperatures during the winter of 1944-45, in the forests of Wallonia in Belgium. It takes its name from the shape of the front line on maps of the campaign, as German troops pushed the Allies back, separating the US and British forces.
