"I'm a mountain lion hunter. When someone has a lion problem they come and see me."
A native of Idaho, Rich Lewis now lives with his wife, Diane, in the isolated Ruby Valley in southwest Montana.
Rich pursues his passion for tracking mountain lions there with the help of a team of hounds. It’s dangerous work; mountain lions have been known to attack and kill humans, and one has already killed Roxie, one of Rich’s prize hounds. It’s the only job Rich would ever want to have, though. His commitment to treeing and tracking lions takes a backseat only to the most pressing matters, such as hunting elk for the dinner table or preparing for the brutal Montana winters.
Rich’s larger-than-life personality hearkens back to the historic mountain men in whose footsteps he walks.
